Meh
In first grade, my teacher taught the class some French songs. Here are two I still remember that were meant to teach colors and days of the week.http://learnenglishkids.britishcouncil.org/en/songs/i-can-sing-rainbow
Red and yellow
And pink and green
Purple and orange and blue
I can sing a rainbow
Sing a rainbow
Sing a rainbow too
Listen with your eyes
Listen with your ears
And sing everything you see
I can sing a rainbow
Sing a rainbow
Sing along with me
Rouge et jaune
Et rose et vert
Violet, orange et bleu
Je peux chanter un arc en ciel
Chante un arc en ciel
Chante un arc en ciel aussi
Écoute avec tes yeux
Écoute avec tes oreilles
Et chante tout ce que tu vois
Je peux chanter un arc en ciel
Chante un arc en ciel,
Chante un arc en ciel avec moi
And also https://speak-and-play-english.com/today-is-monday-song-lyrics-french-english.
I specifically remember the haricots verts for lundi especially. The final verse:
Aujourd’hui c’est dimanche,
Aujourd’hui c’est dimanche,
Dimanche glace,
Samedi poulet,
Vendredi poisson frais,
Jeudi rosbif,
Mercredi zoooop,
Mardi spaghetti,
Lundi haricots verts,
Tous les enfants affamés, venez manger !
Today is Sunday,
Today is Sunday,
Sunday ice-cream,
Saturday chicken,
Friday fresh fish,
Thursday roast beef,
Wednesday zoooop,
Tuesday spaghetti,
Monday string beans,
All you hungry children, come and eat it up!
Though in my memory the end was something different and maybe better fitting for the english's syllables. I thought it went:
Tous les enfants petites, venez-tous à manger!
