Japan Trip 4 and 5

Previously.

I went to Japan again a couple more times. But nothing too exciting to report here. The 4th time was indeed primarily for the reason alluded to in the previous post, seeing my favorite idol have her birthday concert. I ended up helping with the preparations, too, which was a fun experience. I had a good time, but I was there for a while, basically from December 4th through January 16th. (Originally Jan 11th but I extended my stay for an extra weekend to see her a few more times... The plane ticket change didn't increase my fare.) So about 6 weeks. I was happy to be going home.

Of course, on the day I flew out, I heard that her group was disbanding with a final graduation event in a month. My friend is funny, he said when I got home, "So I guess you'll be going back soon right? You'll regret it if you don't!" He was right, of course. So I went back.

Was there from Feb 8th to the 27th, about 3 weeks. There was a valentine's day thing I wanted to attend, heh, otherwise it might have just been for a week or two. (It's hard for me to justify the $1300 or so it costs for the plane ticket these days if I'm only gone a week.)

I'm exhausted, socially speaking, but recovering now that I've crawled back to my hole.

I'm glad I got to see her so much. Overall I had a great time, doing my simple thing. The other fans are kind to me as well, even though my Japanese is terrible. (And when I'm exhausted, I don't study, and I think it gets even more terrible while I'm there under stress.)

Anyway, hopefully that's it for big trips for a while. I'm debating when to do a trip to visit my family and friend for a week-ish. Sooner to get it over with, or later after I've recovered some?

It probably sounds boring to most people to hear I spent so much time in Japan basically attending idol concerts (vs previous trips of traveling around all over). But it's fun for me. On days with no events, there's always food, shopping, re-visiting a few fun places, or just sleeping in and recovering from too much socialization in the hotel room.

For Reasons I can't share who the idol is, but I care a lot about her... probably too much. Dumb thoughts invade my dreams/fantasies too. But I'm just some guy, not a particularly good fan, and I don't deserve any consideration. I'm happy I've been able to support her, and that should be enough for this pointless sack of flesh. I was going to ask a stupid question, more of a verification really since I'm 5 9s sure of the answer, but in the end I chickened out. Cowardly Jach wins again.

I hope I can see her perform again. Maybe I'll be back next December if she does another birthday event. And maybe I'll have studied some more Japanese...
